Hiking through the "Croatian Toscana"
Day 1: Arrival in Novigrad. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: After breakfast we will drive to the town of Pazin, which lies in the heart of Istria. From Pazin we hike to the northwest, past the old town of Beram. From Beram we walk towards the town of Bani where typical Istrian dishes are served in a traditional restaurant. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: After breakfast, bus ride to Buzet. From Buzet we walk in the direction of the southeast to the place Kotli. In Kotli you can see preserved farms (korte), old stone steps (baladur), vaults and picturesque chimneys. Through the village flows the Mirna. Their small waterfalls deepen the stones and form kesselelförmige holes in the rock, hence the village name "Kotli" (the cauldrons). From Kotli we hike to Hum. Hum is famous as the smallest city in the world, but recently it was also named the city of Biska. Biska is a liquor with the plant white mistletoe (Viscum album) attached and the recipe comes straight from Hum. Although Hum has about twenty inhabitants, there is much to offer. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4: After breakfast, bus ride to Gračišće. From here begins the "Way of St. Simon", which leads through valleys, small woods and past picturesque villages (such as the village Žlepčari) to the waterfall Sopot. At the top of the mountain lies the church of the Hl. Marija Magdalena and the effort will be rewarded with a grandiose look. Dinner and overnight
