ISTRIA - a touch of history and tradition

There are plenty of festivals that September is known for and one of them is a festival of Subotina in Buzet. On the second Saturday in September the streets and squares of the old town of Buzet are turning into a stage of the past. In this world of past, which takes place within the old city walls, you can see the original folk costumes from the end of the 19th century, hear the sounds of traditional Istrian music, feel the scents of typical local dishes and participate in various ethno-workshops of old and almost forgotten handicrafts. Don′t miss the chance to taste the traditional specialities as well as the best wines of the region!

The top event of the festival is a preparation of a giant truffle frittata with more than 2000 eggs and 10 kg of truffles that symbolically represent the start of the white truffle season in this region.

Feel the breath of the past and enjoy this unique journey.
